Lent Term 2021
MIASU visiting scholars continue to be with us virtually this term due to the Covid-19 situation.
We would like to welcome the following virtual visitors:
September 2019 – September 2021: Zhou Yong, University of Oslo, working on his postdoctoral research:
“Free Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) and Natural Resources Exploitation: Institutionalizing Indigenous Peoples´ Rights in China”. Funded by the Research Council of Norway.
July 2020 – December 2020: Elizabeth Fox, visiting scholar from University College London, developing her postdoctoral research project on the circulation of meat in contemporary Mongolia and continuing her ongoing research into both Ulaanbaatar’s ger districts and Mongolia’s welfare system. Funded by the Mongolia and Inner Asia Studies Unit.
(POSTPONED) January 2021 – April 2021: Mari Valdur, visiting scholar from the University of Helsinki, where she recently defended her PhD thesis. She is now extending her doctoral research into post-socialist neoliberal politico-economics surrounding reproductive health in Ulaanbaatar. Funded by the Mongolia and Inner Asia Studies Unit.
