Easter Term 2022

We would like to warmly welcome the following visitors this term: 

April 2021 – May 2022: Qi Ruona, a visiting scholar from the Wuhan University, working on her research: 'Between Traditional Culture and Regulatory Tool: Repositioning Environmental Customs in the context of Ecological Civilization Strategy in Inner Mongolia'. Funded by the China Scholarship council. 

October 2021 – May 2022: Liang Huang is a visiting researcher from Sichuan University, China, conducting her research - 'The Theories and Practices of Himalayan Social Studies'.

October 2021 – September 2022: Ayur Zhanaev is a visiting researcher from the University of Waraw working on his research - The Ideas of Social Order as Reflected in Didactic Buddhist Literature of the Buryat-Mongols (18th to early 20th century) funded by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Program in Buddhist Studies

March - May 2022: Alevtina Solovyeva, visiting from the University of Tartu is working on her research – "Conspiracy Theories in Contemporary Mongolia: Vernacular Belief, Social Imagination and Nationhood"

April - July 2022: Mukaidaisi Muhetaer  is a visiting researcher from the department of Asian studies in Palacky University Olomouc, Czech republic. Her research interest includes social statues of Uyghur craftsmen, women's position in rural Uyghur society and the economic transformation of rural Xinjiang. 

April - May 2022: Kristina Jonutyté is visiting from Vilnius University and is conducting her research – “Taming the City: Urban Buddhism in Post-Soviet Buryatia.”
