We are pleased to announce that Professor Yuki Konagaya (National Museum of Ethnology, Osaka) has been chosen to be the 2024 recipient of the Onon Prize by the Mongolia & Inner Asia Studies Unit (MIASU) Steering Committee members in recognition of her contribution to Inner Asian Studies.
The Onon Prize was established in recognition of Professor Urgunge Onon’s contribution to the foundation of the Unit. It is intended to honour those who have made a substantial contribution to scholarship on the Mongolian & Inner Asian region.
This is the fifth time that the Onon Prize is being awarded – previous recipients were Professor Emerita Roberte Hamayon, Professor Charles Ramble, Professor Christopher Atwood and Professor Manduhai Buyandelger.
The MIASU looks forward to welcoming Professor Konogaya to Cambridge to give a special Onon Prize Series lecture in due course.
